Drop, match, and merge your way to a watermelon
Plays on every screen

About
Fruit Merge looks like a toy and plays like a puzzle about space. Fruit drops into a jar one at a time. When two of the same fruit touch, they merge into the next fruit up, and the jar gains a little room. The run lasts as long as you can keep the pile below the rim.
There are eleven fruits to grow, in this order: cherry, strawberry, grape, tangerine, lemon, green apple, peach, coconut, pineapple, dragonfruit and watermelon. You only ever drop the small ones, cherry to lemon, so everything bigger has to be built. A strip at the top shows the whole ladder, with fruit you have not made yet as shadows.
Merges that follow one another quickly score more, up to double. Two watermelons meeting vanish together for a large bonus. Your high score and a run in progress are kept in your browser.
How to play
- Drag to aim and release to drop a fruit.
- Land two fruit of the same kind together to merge them into the next tier.
- Chain merges in a row for a bigger score bonus.
- Watch the next fruit preview to plan your drop.
- Keep the stack below the rim or the run ends
Tips
- Pick a corner for your biggest fruit and build toward it, like keeping the largest tile in one corner of a sliding-number puzzle.
- Check the next-fruit preview before every drop. Two drops of planning are worth more than one lucky merge.
- Avoid burying a small fruit under big ones. It can sit there for the rest of the run.
- The danger line near the rim only ends the run if a fruit settles above it for a couple of seconds, so a brief bounce is fine.
- On a computer, the arrow keys aim and Space drops, which makes careful placement easier.
